The film deals with the situation of British prisoners
of war during World War II who are ordered to build a
bridge to accommodate the Burma-Siam railway.

The Bridge on the River Kwai has received a glorious 4K restoration for its inaugural Blu-ray release. Sony's 1080p transfer is nothing short of marvelous; the film has never looked better for home consumption, and save for a couple of minor nitpicks, the studio's transfer is pretty much perfect.
