Microsoft, over the years, have been a master of the ring with its software packages, ranging from Operating Systems to IDEs and what not. Yes, Microsoft has faced criticism and competition with its Office and Windows etc. but nothing went as severe as their premier web browser, the Internet Explorer, loosing 40% market share. One might argue that Linux is competing Windows or Open Office is taking on MS Office but one has to admit, the kind of setback Microsoft has faced over their Web Browser is enough to make one stop and rethink.

Microsoft has done just that. They have stopped and gave it a thought and now they are up with a strategy to go forward with Internet Explorer. Gone are the days of making a crappy software and place Microsoft Logo on it and make millions. Today, in the world or tough competition from Open Source Initiatives such as Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft has to be very brilliant and very careful. Internet Explorer 9 is very promising web browser and if it did not perform well, it might be the last of the Internet Explorer series.

The Beta launch is going to witness some stuff that is not only new but difficult for the Open Source Community to follow. Microsoft is not going to sit quite with the new release. Microsoft will not only rely on a small press release this time because this time Microsoft is going all out with a Party in San Fransisco. They even have a slogan ”the beauty of the web”, yes its Catchy.
