Opera/Musical in 3 akte's met een zeer jonge, atletische Placido Domingo die door rijstvelden en dojo's banjert terwijl hij de vader van Mr Humpfries uit "are you being served" omverduwt. Tot zover de openingsscene.

Although this Butterfly does not look 15 years old she is young and frail enough to play the part with conviction. She acts well and her voice is generally pleasing. Pinkerton very much looks the part as does Sharples and both have superb voices. Goro is portrayed as more of a clown rather than a crafty scheming money grabber and I thought this spoilt the production. The performers mime their words to a pre recorded sound track and sometimes this is very noticeable especially when Butterfly doesn't even open her mouth! All in all it is a splendid production and well Worth watching and perhaps buying.
